During the past few years, there has been an explosion in microbiome research. Numerous studies are now suggesting that many disease states and host physiology are impacted by the composition of the host microbiome. These findings lend to the speculation that specifically modifying the host microbiome can directly impact host physiology and disease status.
It is the purpose of this meeting to discuss how the host microbiome may be altered and whether such approaches can result in a positive impact on the host.
This program is co-organized by the BioPharma Research Council and the National Cancer Institute.
